Ruby from Burma, also known as Burmese Ruby, is highly prized in the gemstone world for its rich, deep red color and exceptional clarity. The term “pigeon blood” is often used to describe the color of the finest Burmese rubies, which is a vivid, pure red with a slight hint of blue.
These rubies are mined in the Mogok Valley in Burma (now Myanmar), which has been known for producing some of the finest rubies in the world for centuries. The color of Burmese rubies is so highly regarded that it has become the standard by which all other rubies are judged.
